NEWS - 3rd October 2011
It’s official, SUMMER is here, ok,
only joking, we are having our August winds now in
October, and our October rain in a week! Shoooo has it
been windy, and wet over the last few days. Which has
had an even better effect on our fantastic gardens.
Green, lush and looking good. Could that be our new
motto?
This Month in the restaurant, we
have a fantastic special for dessert. Choc chip cookie
stack, with Ice Cream and a hot chocolate-fudge sauce. I
had to try this to see if we could serve this, well the
first 10 goes were just “not” good enough! Ok they were,
but I was just a big pig and enjoyed them! Pop into
Beach Bobbies and try this fantastic dessert. You won’t
be sorry!
Also the baskets were such a huge
hit, we have placed them on our menu and will be there
till the next change of menu, which shouldn’t be too
soon.
Most calls we receive ask about
the fishing, well as I look out my office window and
look over splash rock, someone has to do it, there is
not 1 fisherman on the rock, fishing has been rather
poor at the moment, even the deep sea fisherman are
battling, the conditions with the rain and wind and
massive swells are not helping. But the massive swells
smashing into splash rock are spectacular at the moment.
The guests in L block must be really enjoying the show.
Golf is going well, lots of balls
being lost due to the winds, but remember, never a bad
shot, just a bad swing. If mountain biking is your
thing, Clearwater Trails just up the road from us is
just the place for you, great single tracks and having a
half way stop at Beaver Creek Coffee plantation for a
coffee and sandwich is just the thing, I do this every
now and then, very nice. Also easy to get to the
Clearwater trails by bike or by car, a nice uphill to
get there from here.
Please, for all our Christmas
guests who would like to enjoy Christmas lunch with us,
call and book, it is a fantastic menu and saves you
washing up. Also again we will do our New Years Eve
bring and braai. As I understand it, we will not have a
party on the beach again this year. (makes me a happy
bunny) but our traditional New Year’s Day visitors will
still be here, sadly.
Have a safe trip to us and hope to
see you all soon.
Kind Regards
John Bainbridge
Manager: Port Edward Holiday Resort.
